“The Universe Observing Itself”
We all need a certain amount of life force (prana) to show up in order to operate with ease and stability in our days, and for some reason, at certain times, it's just not there. No matter what you do…. There’s this feeling of being behind.
So you initially feel the emotion in response to the trigger, yes? Emptiness. Anger. Sadness. Overly-Rigid (towards self and actions) Frustration. Fortitude. Pain. Guess what?- it’s all rooted within Fear. Triggers are Fear points.
Yoga: But then maybe you reach acceptance of the situation. You've done everything you can do. And perhaps then find yourself connected to hope and joy again even when what’s around you is chaos. You let go, realizing you cannot hold on. Because there is in fact nothing to hold on to. This life, our experience, is fleeting. We only have each moment.
And maybe this awareness and trigger is exactly what you need to be going through right now? Maybe it's clearing some deep stories inside of you? Maybe you're being prepared to hold more or be more?
But it only comes when you aren't looking for it, worried about it, obsessing over it.
One of my favorite quotes from Alan Watts, or excerpts from a famous speech is, “you are the universe observing itself”. We cannot conceptualize consciousness. It’s too vast. All we can do is work towards getting closer to witnessing and observing it. Let it not define you, but seek a clear intention for your life each day.
Reach to find the deep knowing within yourself and move towards growth and expansion.
Please; Don't lose yourself in the stories that are playing out around you, or within you. This is where you get to put all you've learned on your Spiritual Journey so far to work. You are not those stories………
“When I recognize this lost-ness as my current condition, l invoke ATTENTION to return to my Center, to resume my life's work, and to remember my INTENTION. In Yoga, we call this place, Samasthiti. Samasthiti (equal standing) is a command to attention, a stand in balanced stillness.”
You are not what’s around you or happening in your life - you’re merely a witness to the fact that you’re capable of living inside each moment and each emotion.
Let it return you to love. I know it’s hard.
Samasthiti
(And if none of this applies, that’s chill too).
